Beginning our trip from Kathmandu we ride to the tiny mountainside village of Daman. Daman standing at an elevation of 2,400 meters offers a breathtaking panorama of the world's highest peaks- Dhaulagiri in the far-west to Mt. Everest in the far-east. From Daman we descend to the Tharu village of Sauraha. Located in the sub-tropical jungle of Chitwan National Park, Sauraha offers many jungle activities – elephant and jeep safaris, bird watching, canoeing, village walk, elephant bathing etc. Leaving Sauraha we make our way to the most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site – Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. After paying our respects at the Maya Devi Temple and exploring the many chaityas and monasteries, we hit the road to Pokhara. Pokhara, set against the picture perfect backdrop of giant Himalayan peaks and glittering lakes has captured the heart of many travelers. We take a day off to rest our mean machines and sore muscles, and take in the wonders of Pokhara. We come to our trip’s finale as we make our way to Kathmandu.
