We begin our journey from Kathmandu riding through 200 kilometres of pitched road and wonderful mountain scenery to the ‘Lake City’ of Pokhara. Leaving Pokhara behind we ride through Kali Gandaki Valley, to Jomsom the ‘Gateway to Mustang’. Jomsom is famous for its apple orchards, apple pies, its inhabitants- the warm and hospitable Thakkalis, and the spectacular mountain views of Dhaulagiri, Neelgiri and Annapurna ranges. From Jomsom, we return to Pokhara and ride down to the historic town of Tansen. Situated in Srinagar Danda(hill), Tansen used to be the summer retreat of Nepalese royals and aristocrats. Passing by traditional Magar villages, we ride down to the Terai plains. Our next stop is Lumbini – the birthplace of Lord Buddha. Leaving Lumbini behind we make our way to Chitwan National Park, one of Asia’s most famous national parks. Home to the endangered one-horned rhino, Royal Bengal tiger and innumerable species flora and fauna, Chitwan National Park offers an unforgettable wildlife experience. Jungle activities include elephant safari, jeep safari, canoeing, jungle excursions (on foot) with a trained guide etc. The return leg of our journey is no less exciting as we ride alongside the Trishuli river and ascend Bara Bise maneuvering its hair pin enroute to Kathmandu.
