Motor biking trip that joins the closest cultural localities cross border, Indo Nepal Biking Tour is one hell of a two-wheeler escapade. Beginning from the Nepalese capital Kathmandu, the journey winds across the mountainous roads to the wildlife hub of Nepal, Chitwan, which is just a trip opener. Beyond Chitwan the ride hits relatively easy highway all the way to the cluster of small hilltop towns at the foothill of Himalayas of beautifully diverse Indian State, West Bengal.
The two wheeler trip explores the biggest tourism hub of West Bengal, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Sikkim and vicinities around these awe-inspiring landmarks before it re-enters Nepalese soil via the hub of tea gardens in Nepal, Ilam. Retracing the road with a minor deviation to Dharan, the Indo Nepal Biking Trip ends in Kathmandu.
An ideal biking journey that allows plenty of opportunities to explore the best of Nepal’s wildlife, lowland plains and Indian culture, which is more influenced by the Nepalese lifestyle in every aspect, is truly a holiday of a lifetime.

DAY 01: Ride from Kathmandu to Chitwan (SAURAHA) 146 Km 5-6 hrs ride
The first day of the “Indo-Nepal Motorbike Journey” begins with a short ride that involves busy traffic on the process to exit out of Kathmandu Valley. Once, the ride leaves behind the valley, riders get to experience the different aspect of Nepal, which is amazing. Beginning to slide down on the extremely twisted Prithivi Highway from Naudanda we arrive to Naubise. From Naubise, the ride hits relatively easy road until Galchi. Beyond Galchi, it chases the road just above rushing Trishuli River (famous white water rafting destination in Nepal). Cross past the cable car station at Kurintar to arrive the most popular highway junction, Mugling. Once again it goes along the serpentine mountain highway until Narayanghat. The final section of the ride runs on the road having urban localities on both sides until Sauraha. On our arrival at Sauraha, we first check into our resort. Then we set for the Elephant ride into the jungle, which is a wonderful opportunity to sight rare species like Tiger, Rhino and Gangetic dolphin among others. In the evening, we shall enjoy Tharu Cultural Show in our resort.

DAY 02: Sauraha jungle activities
Today we will enjoy wildlife activities all day long. Starting with the jungle walk, which is opportunity to sight several species of birds and early morning jungle activities. In the afternoon, we shall go for the exciting Elephant Bathing Session in Rapti River. Then, in the late afternoon, we shall visit Elephant Breeding center, where we get see these giant creatures being trained and cared.

DAY 03: Ride from Chitwan to Koshi Tappu 361km Approx 6-7 hrs ride
It is a long day of the Motorbike Trip. We hit the road on East-West Mahendra Highway, which is relatively very comfortable as its stretches wide & pitched all the way to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve. Throughout the highway ride, we get enough opportunities to sight the rural and urban cultures of lowland plains. Before arriving to our resort at Koshi Tappu, we halt at Koshi Barrage to see the beauty of massive Koshi flowing towards India and the birding activities at the site is a bonus reward. On arriving to Koshi Tappu, we enjoy our dinner and straight away go for the good night rest, which probably is the biggest need of the day.

DAY 04: Ride from Koshi Tappu to Darjeeling 194 km Approx 4-5 hrs ride
After the early morning nature walk to see the diverse species of birds, we enjoy our breakfast and right away resume our motorbike journey towards Kakkarvitta. Once again hitting the East-West Highway we arrive to Kakkarvitta after couple of hours ride. At Kakkarvitta we get our passport stamped with Inidan visa and continue our journey into the Indian soil. Sliding down, we arrive to Siliguri. Beyond Siliguri, the ride along the serpentine mountain highway, takes us to Darjeeling. Darjeeling is a small hill town dominated by Nepalese speaking people. Explore around and overnight at Darjeeling.

DAY 05: Early morning excursion to Tiger and excursion of Darjeeling
You will wake up very early today and you will be escorted to the famous Tiger Hill before the dawn. Popular for the sunrise from the point the place describes one of the best views of rising sun. After the glorious view of sunrise you will have your breakfast and then resume for the thorough sightseeing tour of Darjeeling. Darjeeling is a flavored district, globally known for its tea industry. Apart from the tea estates you will also visit the several historical monuments like Darjeeling War Memorial, an exotic waterfall at its vicinity, typical and lively Mall road, colorful Mahakal Temple at Observatory Hill and etc. After the completion of sightseeing tour of this great Gurkha land you will return back to your hotel where you can enjoy the local beverage to let go your exhaustion of the long tour.

DAY 06: Excursion of Darjeeling/ o/n at a tea bungalow
First thing in the morning you will be driven to visit The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Everest Museum, and Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park where you can see Snow Leopards, Red Pandas and Tibetan Wolves.  In the afternoon, take a short toy train (Darjeeling Heritage Railway, a “World Heritage Site”) ride from Darjeeling to Ghoom Railway Station, the highest railway station to be reached by a
steam locomotive.  In the morning you will tour Glenburn’s facilities.   You will end your day with a tea tasting session, where one can discover the differences in aroma, flavor and appearance of tea manufactured in different ways, and during different times of the year. The session also includes tasting teas from other parts of India and the world.  Your overnight stay will be at a tea bungalow.

DAY 07: Ride from Darjeeling to Gangtok 108 km 3-4 hrs ride
The ride begins in the morning. Chasing A31 Highway, which is 3-4 hours wonderful ride we arrive to Gangtok. En route we stop by to explore Peshok Tea Gardens, which is one of the awe-inspiring sights of the region. The motorbike ride in this part of earth is a joyful journey. On arriving Gangtok you will be transferred to your hotel. After a brief rest, we set out to explore Gangtok. Gangtok 1650m at the foothill of Eastern Himalayan Range, it is the tourism hub of Sikkim having mild temperature throughout the year. The home to diverse ethnical tribes, Gangtok is also pilgrimage destination for Buddhists housing 1840 Enchey Monastery.

DAY 08: Day ride to Changu Lake 3753m 80 km two-way ride Approx 3 hrs ride
Today, we gain altitude. An uphill ride along the mountainous highway brings us to Changu Lake, which is also known as Tsomgo Lake. It is a glacial east of Sikkim, which remains frozen throughout the winter. Surrounded by steep mountains, the lake has special attribute of changing its color with different seasons and hence revered holy by the locals. Holy Buddhist monks make important prediction after studying the change in colors of the lake. After exploring the lake and the vicinity we drive back to our hotel in Gangtok.

DAY 09: Sightseeing Tour of Gangtok & ride to Kalimpong 73 km Approx 2-3 hrs ride
Today, we set to explore Gangtok, which is also a Cherry City of India. The landmarks we explore during the sightseeing tour include world famous Rumtek Dharma Chakra Center, Tibet Logy, Government Cottage Industries, Dro-Drul Chorten & Hur Hure Dara. After the exploration of Gnagtok, we enjoy our lunch and set off towards Kalimpong.  A place known as Nursery of Himalayas, Kalimpong 1250m sits on a hill overlooking Teesta River. The Himalayan panorama, the flower market produced from the local Horticultures and the Buddhist Monastery Zang Dhok Palri Phodang are the prime highlights of Kalimpong apart from the cultural diversity the city houses.

DAY 10: Sightseeing tour of Kalimpong and ride to Ilam 114 km Approx 3-4 hrs ride
After the morning sightseeing tour of local markets in Kalimpong, we resume the journey back to Nepal. Riding uphill we arrive to Pashupatinagar, a small border town that leads us to the fascinating tea garden hub of Nepal, Ilam. The culture in Ilam is rich as well and the Himalayan panorama form the town is exceedingly beautiful. We will overnight in this hill town for the night.

DAY 11: Sightseeing tour of Ilam & ride to Dharan 173 km Approx 4-5 hrs ride
After the breakfast and the brief cultural tour of Ilam, we head downhill to Charhali and once again chase the East-West Prithivi Highway to Itahari. Taking a deviation from Ithari, we arrive to Dharan, the town of brave Gurkha soldiers in the East. Dharan is also popular for historic significance as it houses sacred Buda Shubba Temple, which signifies rich cultural history of the place. Overnight at Dharan.

DAY 12: Sightseeing tour of Dharan & Ride to Sauraha 388 km Approx 7-8 hrs ride
On the retracing route, we arrive to Itahari and then chase East-West Mahendra Highway all the way to Suaraha. Today, we have a very long day to ride our motorbikes, so early start is referred.

DAY 13: Ride from Chitwan to Kathmandu 146 km 5-6 hrs ride
The final day of the Ride goes along the serpentine mountain highway. The first section of the ride runs on the road having urban localities on both sides until Narayanghat. From Narayanghat, the ride chases the road through the jungle for a while and pretty soon the ride begins to hit the serpentine mountain highway all the way to Kathmandu. On arriving Kathmandu, we shall ride in our designated hotel.
Finally, the trip concludes.
